January’s newsletter really begins with the end of 07. We at Pateros had been praying God would bring us 50 kids the latter part of 2007. He instead brought us nearly 70; they just didn’t all come at one time. Kathy and I did Wonderful Wednesdays for 11 weeks at the end of the year. We had a Wednesday meal and class for the kids. We had as many as nine or ten in classes. Laura Jameson helped us by cleaning –up the kitchen while Kathy and I did class and crafts. My sister Betty Whiting provides the money for the food and supplies.

Kathy and I counted up that we had not had a vacation in two years so we decided to go and see our daughter in Springfield, Mo... They had been out here, but we had not been to see them so we gathered up June and headed to Missouri. We enjoyed seeing friends in the St. Louis area the first two days then to Katie’s. We arrived back in Spokane January 7 to a snow storm!

I preached at Pateros on January 13, Kathy is helping teach in our church pre-school so we started on Wednesdays in Pateros. Started our first Thursday evening “Does God Exist” by John Clayton study in the Coulee Dam Presbyterian church building on the next night Thursday, had one visitor.

The next weekend Kathy and I went to Seattle to speak at Mountain Lake Terrace church on January 20. In the process we took Melanie one of our new children to visit her mother and new brother and sister in University hospital. Melanin’s grandmother runs the pre-school at our building. We had dinner with Mark and Nancy from Central Kitsap church and then joined Jerry Rushford at Federal Way for an evening about the Pepperdine lectures this year. We had the privilege of speaking at MLT and updating them about our work. God blessed us in that they are going to sponsor us in Central /Eastern Washington for a couple of years. Praise God!

We are looking forward to this partnership with them! We welcome you at MLT as partners with us in this mission work in Central Washington! We are in Pateros on Sunday’s, Monday’s till mid afternoon and all day Wednesdays as we enter February. Thursdays are Grand Coulee day. Tuesdays and Fridays are a mixture of Renewal Workshop and study & sermon days!

The last week or so I have had trouble with nose-bleeds which they think are dry air and high blood pressure related, so after a couple of emergency room visits the nose and blood pressure, I am better please pray for me and Kathy and our health also! God Bless! Dave
